ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I am Italian and I have been living in the UK for the last 10 years.

Living in two different cultures, working in two languages and in two different systems has enriched my practice.

Also, living in an ethnically diverse city like London has strengthened my understanding of multicultural perspectives.

I think that taking into account the social and cultural values people are influenced by gives me a better understanding of their difficulties.

An area of special interest for me is psychodrama and I qualified in group therapy and psychodrama at The Institute of Dynamic Orientation Psychodrama (IPOD PLAYS) in Rome (Institute director: Ottavio Rosati).

        What is Psychodrama?

Psychodrama is a group therapeutic technique developed by husband and wife Jacob and Zerka Moreno at the Beacon Institute, New York in 1925.

Psychodrama is an action method focusing on the therapeutic importance of images, actions in the space, associated with words.

The action method facilitates the development of your true self through role-playing, action, the therapeutic encounter and catharsis.

Within the group, members become author, director, spectator and critic of their own story.

In this therapeutic and transformative space, you have the opportunity to explore and process emotions, experience catharsis, develop a better understanding of yourself and your potential, and begin to express freer and more creative realities.

My values:

  • I value empathy and good communication with clients.

  • I work with dedication to facilitate positive changes in my clients' lives.

  • I place equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of my practice.

  • I value building open and honest professional relationships with my clients.

  • I adhere to ethical standards including privacy and safety.

  • I value my clients' feedback

SPECIALTIES

I offer therapy to help you resolve emotional distress and interpersonal conflicts, for example, in your relationships, family or work.

I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy.

Individual therapy: The aim is to gradually identify, understand and resolve emotional distress using different psychotherapy techniques.

Group therapy: The aim is to gradually identify, understand and resolve emotional distress within a group setting where you share similar difficulties with others.

The group setting will help you feel less alone in experiencing difficulties and will help you reflect on your difficulties from different perspectives.

Supervision:

I offer clinical supervision to psychologists and mental health practitioners in both individual and group supervision sessions.

Supervision is a space for professional and personal development. It helps provide a high quality service to your clients and ensures your professional development.

In supervision, areas of your professional development that I will support you with include:

- Reflecting on the therapeutic relationship with your clients.

- Identifying blind spots in the therapeutic alliance with your client which might create obstacles in therapeutic progress.

- Reflecting on your SOCIAL GRACES and your professional development.

- Developing your methods of practice.

How therapy works

Please contact me to arrange the first step, an initial brief video call.

After our first conversation, I usually suggest one or two treatment sessions  to understand your personal needs.

During these sessions, we will collaboratively explore the most appropriate approach for you and we will define your goals together.

Duration of therapy

The duration of therapy depends on your personal needs and will be reviewed with you on a regular basis.

Sessions are weekly (same time, same day) and last 50 minutes.

Attending sessions consistently is one of the best predictive factors of positive outcomes.

Fees:

Payment is in advance of each scheduled session.

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment.

For late cancellations, the full fee is payable.

‘Time is precious spend it wisely’.

I work with people living in the UK and overseas.

The highest compliment I can receive is a referral from your family, friends or co-workers.

I would be delighted to hear from you and address any questions you might have about therapy. I will respond to enquiries as soon as possible.
